A New Year

We’ve entered a new year! As you reflect back upon 2020 do you have a sense of fulfillment? Did you accomplish all that you had planned to accomplish? If you’re anything like me, a number of goals weren’t met and many things have now crossed the threshold into the new year. While inspiring on one hand, the start of the year can also be a bit sobering. Regardless of if you feel like you are starting the year on a full tank or running on fumes, the success of the journey before you hinges on one great truth.

The apostle Paul along with his protégé, Timothy, wrote to the Philippians saying, “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” This is a promise for every believer that has ever had high hopes yet gained little ground.

Keep Going

Are we there yet? No, but we are on our way. You may not have made it to the destination you had hoped last year, but don’t stop. Maybe things aren’t moving as quickly as you had expected. That’s ok! Slowly but surely you are getting there. Yes, you have a part to play, but God can accomplish more in one moment than you could in an entire lifetime. Rely on Him, trust Him, and know that He will see you through! Finish strong!
