A pandemic. A resurgence of racism. Riots. An election year. All of this on top of the normal load that certainly hasn’t stopped. Pastors are amazing. Today we celebrate Pastors Appreciation Day at The Lift. So I wanted to take a minute to tell why we love Pastors Keith and Margie so much! Since it is 2020 I thought I’d share 20 traits that define our pastors and their leadership style:
- SERVANTHOOD (They continually take up the towel. See John 13)
- INTEGRITY (What you see on stage is what you get behind the scenes)
- COURAGE (They do the right thing even when it is the hard thing)
- HOPE-DEALERS (They shine as light in darkness)
- CONSISTENT (They are never MIA but rather you can rest assured they’re always there on the frontlines of the fight)
- RESILIENT (No matter how fierce the battle they stand unwavering and unmovable)
- HUMILITY (They live to point people to the King of Glory)
- PASSIONATE (Jesus is, no doubt, the supreme love of their lives)
- APPROACHABLE (They live with an open door, seeing leadership as a greater opportunity for servanthood)
- PATIENT (They are patient, giving grace and extending mercy to all within their sphere)
- EMPOWERING (They look for the best in others and push them to fulfill their God-given assignment)
- AUDACIOUS (They fearlessly stand before the Goliaths of our day)
- STABLE (They are a trustworthy foundation)
- FAITHFUL (Whatever the task, they always bring their “A” game)
- GENUINE (They’ve been tried by fire and they lead from a place of authenticity)
- NURTURING (They are a safe place of refreshing for the weary)
- INSPIRATIONAL (They inspire the nature of Christ within all who have an ear to hear)
- HONOR (They honor those above them, around them, and those following them with the heart of Christ)
- GENEROSITY (They give of themselves more than anyone will ever know)
- INNOVATION (They push the predefined limits and press into new territory)
